01 / Start with the surrounding materials

Collect a few references: the wall colour, nearby timber or stone, door hardware and any material that sits directly beside the switchboard. The goal is to understand the relationship between them.

A finish can blend into a quiet wall or create a deliberate contrast. Consider the whole wall elevation with your designer, especially when boards sit beside door frames, mirrors or cabinetry.

02 / Compare the surface, not just the colour

Matte and gloss can give the same colour a different character. Wood, marble, fabric and custom-print options introduce another relationship with the interior. Use Vesta’s finish explorer to start the conversation, then request a sample of the option you are considering.

Screen colours are indicative. View the sample beside your actual materials and in the room’s lighting where possible. Confirm the exact finish name, material and availability before it is added to the order.

03 / Decide where to repeat and where to vary

You may want one finish throughout an open living space and a different palette in the bedrooms. Mark the selection against each room or board group so changes are intentional and easy to review.

For a custom print, bring a clear artwork or material reference. Ask what can be produced for your selected board, how the design will be positioned, and what needs approval before production.

04 / Put the final selection in writing

Before ordering, match each finish to its board configuration and quantity. Ask for care guidance relevant to that surface and confirm any sample or customisation arrangements in the quotation.

If the interior palette changes later, revisit the board schedule as well. Keeping these decisions together helps the small details feel considered when the room is complete.

Use digital colours for exploration and physical samples for the final decision. Record the chosen finish against each board group.
