01 / Walk through an ordinary day
Think about arriving home, cooking, reading and going to bed. Note the controls you expect to find at each point. A bedside board might have a different purpose from the one near the bedroom entrance, even when both belong to the same room.
Make a list of board locations with your interior designer. Use clear names such as “living room entrance” or “bedroom, left bedside” so everyone can refer to the same place.
02 / Count functions, then discuss the layout
For each location, record the lighting circuits, fan controls and socket points you want. Add how many identical boards you need. Keep the requested functions separate from the preferred plate size: a module count describes the footprint, and does not by itself tell you how many controls a finished board can support.
The Vesta board planner helps organise this brief. It is a starting point for a quotation; the final layout, electrical ratings and product selection need to be confirmed for your project.
03 / Bring the right people into the discussion
Your designer can coordinate board positions with furniture, joinery and wall finishes. Your qualified electrician can confirm the wiring, loads and back boxes against the selected product requirements. Share the same board schedule with both, and ask Vesta to review the proposed control combinations.
Tell the team your current project stage. Choices that are easy to make during planning may require a different approach once painting or fit-out is complete.
04 / Confirm the finish and the experience
Review finish samples with the materials around the board. Then ask for a demonstration of the control methods you want: touch, app, voice, scenes or schedules. Confirm those features for the exact model being quoted, including what works when connectivity changes.
Keep the agreed board schedule, finish selection and written quotation together. A clear brief makes it easier to check that the delivered controls match the rooms you planned.
Start with locations and functions. Confirm the board configuration, electrical requirements and finish together before ordering.
